Regional Account Manager

Northeast US and Eastern Canada
Base Location: Greater Boston Area

Purigen Biosystems, headquartered in Pleasanton CA, is redefining nucleic acid sample preparation with the Ionic® Purification System. This innovative platform is based on the highly efficient isotachophoresis technology invented by Juan Santiago, PhD, and his team at Stanford University. The Ionic system, comprised of an automated benchtop instrument, microfluidic chips and reagent kits, purifies nucleic acids from a wide variety of sample types, including minute or otherwise challenging cancer samples. The purified nucleic acids are then immediately compatible with a wide range of downstream detection methods, including next-generation sequencing (NGS), PCR and other genomic tests.

We are seeking a successful life science sales professional with an established network in the Boston area to represent our portfolio of nucleic acid extraction instrumentation and reagents.   • Meet sales instrument and consumables sales objectives in the territory
  • Build and maintain relationships with key accounts within territory
  • Nurture prospects using all available tools, i.e. Proof-of-Performance studies (POPs), demos and technical presentations
  • Perform prospecting activities to identify new opportunities within territory
  • Attend local trade shows and organize local seminars (as situation allows)
  • Gather and disseminate knowledge regarding current and new market opportunities to the product marketing team
  • Establish good working relationships with Pleasanton based teams, including marketing, R&D and manufacturing
  • Travel- During COVID < 5%, Post-COVID 20-30%
  • 3+ years sales experience in Life Sciences or pre-clinical market; capital equip sales preferred
  • BS in Biology or similar Life Science discipline
  • Must have experience working with academic, pharma, and biotech companies in the Boston/Cambridge area
  • Rep-level working knowledge of nucleic acid extraction and downstream analytical techniques such NGS and qPCR
  • Hunter mentality; strong prospecting and closing skills
  • Established network in oncology research and pathology labs
  • Previous experience in (or aptitude and interest in) a startup environment, selling disruptive technology
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, achievement-driven and customer focused
